Open Gardens
Open Gardens is the main fundraising event for Carillon Cottage, usually held over a weekend during the early summer when around 10 private gardens in and around Wadhurst are generously opened by their owners for visitors to enjoy. Visitors will typically tour some, or even all, of the gardens, by foot or by car, also taking in a visit to the church to enjoy tea and a sumptuous range of homemade cakes.
Open Gardens 2024
Open Gardens 2024 will take place on Saturday June 1st and Sunday June 2nd 2024 from 2pm - 6pm – save the date in your diary! Enjoy a great afternoon in the beautiful gardens, meet familiar faces and help support the work of Carillon Cottage.
Could you open YOUR garden for us in 2024?
Every year the organising committee look for new gardens to supplement or replace existing gardens. In 2023 we were fortunate to have 13 gardens involved varying from large and formal to small and cottage. Each garden brings its own unique planting and design to the event.
The committee would welcome any offers of participation in Wadhurst Open Gardens 2024, taking place on 1st and 2nd June. Please contact Carillon Cottage for further information.
Can you help?
The event relies on a lot of helpers and, of course, on those generous people who open their gardens to visitors. There are many ways to get involved:

Volunteers are needed on each day to help with serving teas, stewarding, signage, and in many other ways;

Help before and after the event would be very welcome – by baking a cake, growing plants for the plant stall or helping out with publicity.
