Why do I work for the church?
Well working for a church is not my background, I am trained
as a Cardiac Physiologist. I specialised in heart ultrasound and electrophysiology. When I became a Christian in my late 20’s I wanted to give more time to exploring God and over the years got more involved with volunteering at church events. A few years ago I really felt strongly that I wanted to apply for the
job at the church and have been fortunate to keep up my Cardiology one day a week, I felt God was calling me to this work. I love my job with the church and feel so blessed that
I can serve God in my village, by helping others learn more about Him.
If you would like to find out about any activities for young people at church or If you want to have a chat about life, faith or if you simply want to say hello... I’d love to hear from you.

My name is Hollie, I am the Pastoral Assistant for Families
for Wadhurst Church and I also co-ordinate School Pastors
at Uplands Community College. I live in the village with my husband and our two wonderful and energetic boys. The boys attend Wadhurst Primary, and we love being part of
this thriving village.
What do I do?
I help families explore the Christian faith. I am the first point of contact for families or young people exploring Baptism or Thanksgiving services.
I organise an after school club on a Tuesday called
J Club, supported by a fantastic team of volunteers, some of whom volunteer in Carillon Cottage as well. I help at our Jellybeans Toddler group every Thursday in Wadhurst Church and Who Let The Dad’s Out on a Saturday once a month.
I support our volunteer youth leaders in running our church youth group. I help organise some of our children’s activities at church services. In my School Pastor role I co-ordinate a team of volunteers that go into Uplands CC twice a week, to chat to students at lunchtime and help promote well being
by being a listening ear.
